Els Murray

Berlin – Els Murray, 62, of Green Hollow Road, Berlin, NY, passed away peacefully at home on July 17, 2011, after a prolonged illness.
Born Johanna Antonia Elisabeth Maria van Dijk, in Den Bosch, the Netherlands, on February 13, 1949, Els had resided with her husband, Stuart, in Berlin since 2002. They previously lived in Columbia County, NY, since 1976, where they raised four children, Aaron, Timothy, Jeremy and Rachel. The Murrays have four grandchildren.
A skilled handweaver, Els specialized in weaving linen transparencies, for which she became well known, and her work hangs in many homes here and abroad. Her studio is Green Hollow Weavers, with the web site www.greenhollowweavers.com.
Funeral arrangements are private. Friends and family will take part in a celebratory gathering at her home in early August.
