Wednesday: I and my wife continue unwell and John F. unwell. Today Appolas Rollo bought a fat cow of John F. at six dollars per hundred and drove her to the Town of Lee, there to be butchered and weighed.
Thursday: Geo P. and John F. went to Lebanon to Squ Hampton Bull’s and Geo P. had an article drawn to that effect he is to sign off all the personal and real estate that I may will him to John F. for eight hundred dollars to be paid next April.
Friday: I and my wife remain feeble. Today Geo P. and wife went before Squ Wm. Hand and said Hand took their acknowledgement on what I might will them and accept of only eight hundred dollars from John F. and let that be in full of their right to my property. Today James M. Glass called and left me medicine from the German Doctor Clingenstern from Berlin, said medicine Hiram Newton fetched from Berlin.
Monday: Today Geo P. went up town and paid our taxes. Mine was 14 dollars and 60 cts and his tax was 12 dollars and 60 cts.
Thursday January 17: This morning John F. starts for Albany with his two horse team to get a load of plaster for Geo P.
Friday: John F. returned home at sunset and fetched Geo P. one ton of plaster from Albany at seven dollars.
Monday: The German Doctor left me more medicine and left medicine for John F. and medicine for Sarah and John F. paid him up in cash two dollars and Hiram Newton called and left 4 dollar premium money and a book on chemistry and Charlotte E. gave Hiram 25 cts. This evening John F. walked down to the school house near Henry Patchings to the debating meeting.
