Marcella G. Parent

Stephentown – Marcella G. Parent, 77, of Madden Road, Stephentown, NY, died on Monday morning, July 18, 2011, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY, after a brief illness.
Born in Bangor, ME, on April 11, 1934, she was a resident of Madden Road since moving from Connecticut in 1999. She worked as an assembler for Stanadyne Manufacturing of Windsor, CT, for over 35 years, retiring in 1996. Marcella bowled in the Stanadyne bowling league for many years. She loved mowing the lawn at home and spending time with her faithful canine companion Pookie.
She is survived by her dear friend, Yvette Gervais, with whom she resided, nephews, Wayne Charette of Springfield, MA, and Mark Parent of Avon Park, FL, and nieces, Sylvia Fortune of Madison, WI, and Jean Thayer of Portland, ME.
A Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial was celebrated by Rev. John Close and Deacon Peter Quinn on Wednesday, July 20, at 10 o’clock in St. Joseph’s Church, Route 43 and Grange Hall Road, Stephentown. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. There were no calling hours. Memorial contributions in Marcella’s memory may be given to the Church for Memorial Masses.
