First Annual Hoosick Hometown Days

August 5, 2011 By eastwickpress

For three days, the residents of the Town of Hoosick and the surrounding communities will have the opportunity to come together to celebrate the end of summer and all that our area has to offer.  Hoosick Hometown Days will be held August 25 – 27 at the Town of Hoosick Athletic Fields from 5 to 10 pm on Thursday and Friday and from noon to 10 pm on Saturday.
Attractions include vendors, concessions by local non-profit organizations and carnival rides and games provided by AmyLand Amusements. Thursday evening will feature live music by Joe Shaw and Chuck Carr, Together Again.  Friday the grounds will be host to a Car Cruise-In, live music by Shari Hand, Krissy Fauler and Wayne Willson, Texas Hold’Em, and a performance by the Hill Country Cloggers.  On Saturday local Girl Scouts will be hosting a Car Show, the North Hoosick Fire Department will hold a Chicken Barbecue at 4:30, local band CarMa will perform and the festivities will be topped off with a fireworks display provided by Alonzo Fireworks.
Hoosick Hometown Days is still seeking vendors and non-profit groups to join the event.  Sponsors are also needed to help offset the costs for the entertainment and fireworks.  For vendor information, contact Dawn Case at 518-677-3959 or case52@verizon.net. Non-profit groups and businesses or individuals interested in becoming a sponsor may contact Jerry McAuliffe at 518-527-6362 or jmcauliffe5@aol.com for more information.
