Hoosick Rescue Squad Sponsors 911 Memorial Service

August 26, 2011 By eastwickpress

On Sunday, September 11, the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad is sponsoring a 911 Candle Walk, Memorial Service and Open House. The public is invited to come and participate in this event, remembering that terrible tragedy ten years ago.
The Candle Walk with begin at 7  pm at the Hoosick Falls Fire Station at Main Street and Griffin Avenue and will conclude at the Rescue Squad building at 21 First Street.  Please bring your candle and gather at 6:45 to participate (some candles will be provided).
There will be a Memorial Service at the Squad house immediately following the walk, at approximately 7:15, with guest speakers, the community band and prayer.  Several local fire departments, law enforcement agencies, emergency medical services and church groups are planning to attend.
An Open House will follow the service and refreshments will be served.  Mark your calendar and plan to attend to remember those killed on 911 in 2001 and to honor the emergency agencies that unselfishly responded to the call.
For more information, please contact President Bill Gaillard at 686-9715 or Vice President Deb Lohnes at 686-0810.
