On Friday, September 2, at noon, the Ondawa-Cambridge Chapter, DAR, will gather for the first time this year at the Cambridge Hotel for a luncheon meeting. The program will be presented by Barbara Green, Recording Secretary of the Chapter, who will give a report on her attendance at the Continental Congress National Conference held in Washington, D.C. this past June.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, charitable organization, founded in 1890 and incorporated by an act of the United States Congress in 1889.
The DAR functions as a volunteer service organization and is dedicated to patriotism, education and historic preservation. Membership in the Society is open to any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution.
