The Taconic Press
The Petersburgh Public Library is pleased to announce that it has received a donation of the first 35 issues of The Taconic Press, issued in 1936. They were donated by Pamela Neaton Eggsware who received them from her aunt, Elizabeth Babcock Wells, her son Glenn Wells and her late husband, William Wayne Wells. The newspaper may be read in the Library, all the issues having been put into a binder. Stop by and enjoy reading about life in Petersburgh and the surrounding communities in 1936. Did you know that you could buy a half pound of Hershey’s chocolate in Petersburgh for 10 cents in 1936? This fact and many other interesting stories are in the 1936 newspaper.
