British School Of Ballet Enters 35th Year

This will be the 35th year Miss Olivia has operated the Ballet School located at 120 Church St. in Hoosick Falls. Miss Olivia has always taught all of her classes and still does. Not only does she teach ballet, she teaches Irish step dance, tap, Scottish highland dance, including the Sword Dance, and gymnastics.
Miss Olivia has had students turn professional and perform with major dance companies. Several students have won college scholarships with dance in amounts from $10,000 up to $30,000.
In 1990 Miss Olivia took five students to Moscow Russia for two weeks. They took classes every day at the famous Bolshoi Ballet School. Miss Olivia was praised by the teachers at the school who said they were so impressed by how good her girls were.
In 35 years Miss Olivia has had hundreds of students audition for the “Nutcracker” put on by the Albany Berkshire Ballet Company Every single student who auditioned from her school passed. Some students have also auditioned for other ballet companies and passed.
Miss Olivia was a professional dancer and danced all over Europe before coming to the USA in 1970. She lived in southern California before moving to Hoosick Falls in 1976. Many of her former students still keep in touch with her. Today she is even teaching children of her former students.
