The Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad extends appreciation to Nick Hunt for the time he gave in serving his community while on summer break from college. Since arriving home from SUNY Potsdam in May, Nick answered over 140 calls.

Nick became a Junior Member of the squad during his junior year at Hoosick Falls Central School in 2008. Following graduation, he became a Senior Member and in June of 2010 he received his New York State EMT Certification. He is always eager to jump in and help in any emergency situation. This summer Nick was voted in to be a Team Captain and also a driver. He rode regularly on Team 3 under Team Captain, Rita Kittel. Nick also responded to calls week days and filled when others were away.
Nick, son of Ann Hunt Flavin and Jeff Hunt, is studying Criminal Justice. He returned to Potsdam in late August, where he rides for the Campus Rescue Squad. In his free time he enjoys golfing, band, drama and outdoor education.
Nick says that his main goal in life is to help others. He has a heart of gold and is admired by all members of the rescue squad. In addition to taking many calls, Nick did some painting and cleaning at the squad house this summer.
Nick will surely be missed by members of the squad. They anxiously wait for college breaks to have Nick home and riding again. If you have an interest in volunteering and helping your community, please contact a squad member or call 686-4105 to request an application.
