Rensselaer Land Trust September Events

Outings – Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11, – Choose your pleasure. You can participate in a Paintball Biathlon, a children’s Ramble Camp, a walk in the woods and a strenuous hike across the Rensselaer Plateau. There is something for everyone. Workday – Stephentown Center Baptist Cemetery Restoration, 9:30 am to 3:30 pm on Sunday, September 11, with a complimentary barbecue luncheon for 1.5 hours or more of volunteer work. Come for all or part of the day. Joe Ferrannini, expert in cemetery restoration, will guide volunteers. Tools will be provided, but bring work gloves and an extra hand spade if you have one. Use bug spray and sun screen as needed. We will clean tombstones with brushes and water and lift, dig, reset and mend headstones. Ties to the Land Workshops – 9 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 17 and October 22 at the Petersburgh Memorial Community Center. This is a two part succession planning workshop for forest landowners called Legacy Planning. The human side of estate planning will be delivered with a mix of DVD presentations, practical exercises, panel discussions and Q&A sessions with experts (tax attorney, certified public accountant, landowner incentive program manager).
