September Events At The New Lebanon Library

All of these events are free and will take place at the Library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
September 4 – New Lebanon Book Group – 11 am. The book to be discussed is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Newcomers are welcome.
September 8, 15, 22 and 29 – Bright Beginnings Story Hour and Play Group – 11 am – stories and play for ages  up to 5 years.
September 7, 14, 21 and 28 – Tales for Tots Story Hour – 10:30 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.
September 7, 14, 21 and 28 – Hug-A-Bye Babies – noon – age appropriate stories, songs and movement activities for our youngest patrons and their caregivers.
September 9 – Coffeehouse Night – 6 pm – features the music of singer/songwriter Linda Worster. Light refreshments will be served.
September 12 – Crochet and Knitting Circle – 6:30 pm – crochet instruction for beginners and good company for the advanced.
September 13 – Meet Up Travel Group – 6:30 pm – presentation of a trip to Peru and the Inca trail. The public is welcome.
September 15 – Family Crafts Night – 6 pm – all materials provided, suitable for the whole family. Advance registration is preferred; call 518-794-8844.
September 16 – Music of Misty Blues – 7 pm – modern and traditional blues from this popular local band.
September 17 – Chess Instruction for Kids – 10 am. Instruction for kids but players of all ages and levels are welcome.
September 21 – Swap, Not Shop! Teen and tween clothing exchange – 6:30 pm. Bring a bag of gently used, clean teen or tween’s clothing and accessories and an additional empty bag. After the swap, you’ll leave with a bag of “new to you” items. Any leftover items will be donated to Goodwill.
September 22 – The Water and the Word – 6:30 pm. Speaker Ruth Abram discusses the impact of The Second Great Awakening, a powerful religious revival from the 1790s to the 1840s, on American life and specifically on New Lebanon. Co-sponsored by the Lebanon Valley Historical Society.
September 23 – Family Movie Night – 6:30 pm – showing a current film suitable for the whole family. Call 518-794-8844 for the title. Snacks will be provided.
September 24 – Paws to Read – 9 am. Children read to therapy dogs and, of course, the dogs listen! Advance registration is preferred; call 518-794-8844.
September 27 – Family Feed – 6 pm – topical food and recipe swap. This month it is Snackalicious. Bring in your favorite child friendly snacks to share and a recipe to copy for the group.
