September 24, 2011 By eastwickpress

Join the Hoosick Area Youth Center & Community Coalition (HAYC3) for a fabulous celebration of the area’s bountiful harvest at the 3rd Annual Harvest Moon Dinner on Saturday, September 24. Reservations are now being accepted for this event which will be held at the Youth Center, 115 Church Street, in Hoosick Falls, from 6 to 11 pm. The Harvest Moon Dinner is an adults-only event and proceeds will benefit the programs for youth and families offered by HAYC3 throughout the year.
The gourmet dinner, expertly created by Class Catering of Albany, will feature local fare with bayou flair. The family-style served dinner includes tasting portions of Cajun Chicken with Red Pepper Coulis, Slow-roasted Loin of Pork with Bourbon Glaze, Fall Vegetable Napoleons, Vidalia Onion & Cheese Tarts, Fire-roasted Vegetable Gumbo, and more. An array of hors d’oeuvres will be passed during cocktail hour, highlighting more of the flavors of the harvest. Dessert featuring a selection of fresh pies and delicious warm beignets will complete this outstanding feast. Wine, beer and soda will be available for purchase.
“Buck2Fifty” will entertain with music for dancing until 11 p.m. This six-piece band mixes popular dance and rock favorites with New Orleans jazz and original songs. This band performed to much acclaim at the Friday night kick-off concert for Pumpkinpalooza 2010.

To add to the evening’s fun, a fabulous collection of auction items will be available for silent and live auction bidding. Featured items include original paintings by George Van Hook and Mark Tougias, a week stay in a 4-bedroom vacation home on St. Thomas, a limo ride for 6-8 people with a $100 gift certificate to Farrara’s Restaurant, car detailing, jewelry, a roundtrip airline ticket to anywhere in the U.S. that United flies, a Day at the Races with renowned trainer Gary Contessa, hot air balloon rides, a laser tag party for 10, and many other surprises.
Reservations will be accepted through September 21, or until the event sells out. Call the Hoosick Area Youth Center (518-686-9050) or e-mail contact@hoosickyouth.org to make a reservation.
