Thomas R. Conklin

Berne – Thomas Richard Conklin, 58, passed away surrounded by his family early Monday morning, September 5, 2011 at home, in his beloved Berne. He was born April 17, 1953 in Albany to the late Bob and Esther (Greene) Conklin.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Leslie (Magin) Conklin and was the adored father of Jennifer and her husband Jason Manias, and Scott and Sierra “Belle” Conklin and grandfather of Alexander Manias. He was brother to Bob (Karen), John (Bonnie), Chuck (Sue), Steve (Mary), Jim (Kim), Ken (Jean), Gord (Paula) Conklin and Patty (Shawn) Skinner and Kathy (Kevin) Lounsbury and cousin to Harold (Ruth) Conklin.
Tom retired after 37 years as a Park Manager with New York State Parks.  He was an avid hunter, maple sugarmaker, and lover of the great outdoors. Husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend, he will be greatly and deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Helderberg Lutheran Church, Berne, followed by an interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends called from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, September 7, at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
