On Saturday, October 15, from 2 to 7 pm at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Hall a benefit pig roast dinner will be held for the Hoosick Falls/Pownal family of Roy and Amy Squiers. Amy is in her early 30s and, after many treatments and surgeries, is losing a battle to a rare type of cancer.
Roy and Amy have a two year old son. Roy would like to spend as much time with Amy as he can but has to keep working to pay the bills and keep their health insurance. Roy’s friends and co-workers will be holding this benefit to help him take time off to be with his wife.
The cost is $20 for adults, $10 for kids 12 and up and free for kids under 12.
Dinner will be served at 4 pm. In addition to the pig roast, dinner will include a salad, hamburgers, hotdogs, dessert and a beverage.
There will be a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese Auction.
Donations can also be made at any Capital Communication Federal Credit Union to “Roy Squiers Benefit.” The money will go towards paying the endless bills of dealing with this illness.
