Berlin Boys XC Takes Fifth At Burnt Hills Invy

The Berlin Cross Country teams took part in the prestigious Burnt Hills Invitational meet at Saratoga State Park on Saturday, taking fifth place against some of the top running schools in the state. The meet draws schools from all areas of New York as well as some from Massachusetts and Vermont.

Berlin boys placed fifth with only one school from Section II beating them in the standings. Alex French led the way for Berlin, taking 14th, finishing just under 17 minutes.  Erik Viner followed closely in 18th place, while Connor Brown took 32nd and Connor Hoyt took 39th.  Evan Dawes took 48th place, followed by Doug Hoard in 50th and Dan von Schilgen in 54th place.
The girls team did not have as good a day as the boys team, finishing towards the bottom of their race in team standings.  Kayleigh Corrado placed 41st, Hannah French 58th and Brittany Dickhaus 73rd for the Lady Mountaineers.
