Hoosick Falls Fire Department Visits St. Mary’s Academy

The Hoosick Falls Fire Department visited the St. Mary’s Academy Elementary School on Thursday, October 20, for Fire Prevention. The students were able to see a K-9 arson demonstration by Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Davendonis and his K-9,  Inferno. Students were also able to go through the Rensselaer County Fire Safety House which teaches children about burn safety, kitchen hazards and how to escape from fire when your primary escapes are blocked by going to though a  secondary escape and down a ladder. Children were also able to practice calling 911 on the safety house phone. All students were also able to go through the fire trucks.
