Stephentown Memorial Library Events

October 7, 2011 By eastwickpress

• International Observe the Moon Night – Join the fun on Saturday, October 8, at 6:30 pm. Bring the whole family and learn about the moon. Kids are invited to wear pajamas and enjoy moon related stories, make a lunar map out of Oreos and howl at the moon outside. Moon pies and juice will be served inside, and then we’ll head out to view the moon. Dress warmly and bring binoculars or telescopes, lawn chairs, flashlights and bug repellent. We will have binoculars on a tripod set up for all to share. We hope to have some experts join us to help us as we view the moon. In the event of bad weather, we’ll just keep the party inside.
• Family Movie Night – Enjoy a showing of the recently released family film, Zookeeper, on Friday, October 14, at 7 pm. This fun family film is about a group of zoo animals who decide to break their code of silence in order to help their lovable zoo keeper find love – without opting to leave his current job for something more illustrious. This movie is rated PG. Popcorn and drinks will be served. This event is free and all are welcome.
• Community Pot Luck Supper – The Friends of SML invite the public to join them for a fun and lively evening at the Library on Saturday, October 15, at 6 pm. Bring a dish to share and visit with your friends and neighbors as we enjoy some music provided by Colby Gail. This is a free event and all are welcome!
For more information, call the Stephentown Memorial Library at 733-5750. Check our website, www.stephentownlibrary.org for regular updates.
