Vets Wall Almost Ready For 11-11-11

October 28, 2011 By eastwickpress

submitted by Phil Leonard
The Veterans Wall committee is working to get the wall ready for the dedication on 11/11/11 at 11 am. The five plaques containing the names of the veterans have arrived. The grinding wheel has been placed on the pedestal in the center front of the wall. The wheel will make a fine place for sitting and observing the plaques. The flag pole given to us by the Post Office is the next item to be placed. This will take a special base in order to have it firmly in the ground. Arrangements are being made to mount the plaques and to have the World War I Monument cleaned to match as well as possible the new plaques. The program is being arranged with music and the regular American Legion program for Veterans Day. The plaques for the 29 individuals and groups that donated $500 or more and the Veterans Wall committee will not be done for the dedication. It is taking longer than expected to have them made. Save Friday, November 11, to attend the dedication of the Veterans Wall made possible by the donations of the people.
