Catherine La Flamme

Hoosick Falls – Catherine La Flamme, 93, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center in Hoosick Falls, NY. She had resided on River Road in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Raymond La Flamme, who died in 1961.
Born on August 22, 1918, in Hoosick Falls, Catherine was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Dorr) Fleming. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls and Troy Business School. She formerly worked at the Key Bank and at the Hoosick Falls Central School cafeteria. Catherine was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, where she was also a member of the Alter and Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed skiing in earlier years, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Crandall and husband Arthur of Petersburgh, NY, and Mary Kelly and husband Matthew of Babcock Lake, her son, Raymond “Butchy” La Flamme of Hoosick Falls, her brothers, Walter Fleming of Florida, Joseph Fleming and wife Jem of Georgia and William Fleming and wife Karen of North Carolina, her grandchildren, Bonnie St. Onge and A.J. Crandall both of Babcock Lake and Aimee and husband Martin and Ava Kinsella all of Clifton Park, NY, her great-grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley and Jeremy St. Onge of Babcock Lake, her brother-in-law, Edward Post of Hoosick Falls, and her many nieces and nephews. Catherine is pre-deceased by a sister, Ann Post, and four brothers Luke, Harry, Bernard and Richard Fleming.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Tuesday, November 8, at 11 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial followed the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
Relatives and friends called at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Academy, the Danforth Adult Home or the Hoosick Falls Health Center through the funeral home.
