William R. Douglas

Hoosick – William R. Douglas, 64, passed away on Thursday, November 3, at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He had resided on Route 22 in Hoosick, NY, with his wife Marilyn (Keyes) Douglas.
Born on August 4, 1947, in Cambridge, NY, Bill was the son of Ceola (Groesbeck) Wilson. He graduated from Cambridge Central School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1967 to 1973 and in Vietnam. Bill was employed by New York State as Superintendent of Construction in the Office of General Services. He was a member of the American Legion Post #634 in Cambridge, where he was also a past Commander. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, was an avid Yankee and Patriot fan and faithfully watched their games with the family dog Murphy at his side.
Survivors other than his wife Marilyn include his daughters, Monica Larrabee and husband Robert and grandson Robert Chester Larrabee of Frisco, CO, and Erin Douglas of Denver, CO, his sister, Terry Weir of Salem, NY, his brother, Jack Douglas of Eagleville, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, November 7, at 10 am from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial with Military Honors was at 12 pm Monday at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Sunday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Academy through the funeral home.
