Dorothy K. Shea

Hoosick Falls – Dorothy K. Shea, 96, died peacefully on December 3, 2011, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. She had resided on Richmond Avenue in Hoosick Falls, NY, and was the wife of the late Thomas F. Shea, who died in 1986.
Born on June 24, 1915, in Hoosick Falls, Dorothy was the daughter of Albert and Helene (Smalley) Dorr. She graduated from the Walter A. Wood High School and Troy Business School. She worked at the Wood Flong as a bookkeeper, retiring in December 1978. After retirement, she worked with her dear friend, Ellen, at Hoosac Travel. Dorothy was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed family and special times spent with her granddaughter.
Survivors include her son, Michael and wife Joanne Shea of Hoosick Falls, her granddaughter, Erin Shea, and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is pre-deceased by a sister, Marjorie Dorr, and a brother, Franklin Dorr.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 6, at 1 pm from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial followed the Mass at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. There were no calling hours.
If friends desire, contributions in memory of Dorothy may be made to the Hoosick Falls Health Center through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, who are handling the arrangements.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, aides, therapists and staff at the Hoosick Falls Health Center for the loving support, friendship and dedication Dorothy received while in their care.
