• December 10 – Folk Stockings – Children will create customized stockings for their pets, family or friends using folk patterns, shapes and designs.
• December 17 – Folk Ornaments – Children will use popular folk materials to fashion original holiday ornaments.
To register, call 518-686-9050. Class sizes are limited.
Platescapes Project: 50 Plates In 50 Days
The new HAYC3 Artists’ Guild has launched an exciting project for the holiday season. Using 50 vintage dinner plates and special ceramic paints, participants will create customized “platescapes” that express their personality, reflect their interests and spark conversation.
The goal of the Platescapes project is to complete 50 plates in 50 days. Work began on Tuesday, November 15, and the Guild will meet from 6 to 8 pm every Tuesday thereafter until December 31.
Participants can drop in and stay for as long as they like during the open studio hours.
The project and Artists’ Guild is open to the community. All are welcome, regardless of experience or skill level. Although it is intended for adults, young artists with the dedication to complete the project will be considered.
There is no cost for HAYC3 members to participate. Non-members will be charged $10 per plate.
Completed plates will be displayed throughout the community in the year ahead and later incorporated into an installation at the HAYC3 building.
For additional information, contact Aelish at 518-686-9050.
