Berlin – James Henry Riccardi went to his eternal reward on December 3, 2011, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on February 24, 1945, the son of Philip V. and Mary Seagroatt Riccardi, Jimmy, the fourth of eleven siblings, grew up in Berlin, NY. Jim was a proud member of the Marine Corp serving in Vietnam.
In 1982 at Sacred Heart Church in Berlin, he and his beloved, Gayla Snowden, were married. They made their first home in Berlin where their two sons, James Philip and Joseph Henry were born. In 1992, the family moved to Loudonville, NY. In 1998, Jimmy opened the Materials Recovery Company in Troy, NY.
Jim enjoyed many years of golfing at Schuyler Meadows Country Club, where friends became family.
In addition to his wife and two sons, Jimmy is survived by his five brothers and their spouses, Philip and Mara, Albert and Joanne, Stephen, John and Michael, and five sisters and their spouses, Meg and Ed Maloney, Dorothy and Carl McInerney, Jean, Sheila and Karen. In addition, Jimmy leaves numerous nieces and nephews including two special nephews, Christopher and Shane Riccardi.
Funeral services were Tuesday, December 6, at 10 am at the St. Pius X Church, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated. Relatives and friends called at the St. Pius X Church on Monday, December 5, from 4 to 7 pm. Jim was an active Board Member of Living Resources, 300 Washington Avenue Extension, Albany, NY, 12203, which was very close to his heart. Donations in his honor, to continue their fine work, would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
