It appears that what goes around comes around. Aaron Schwab has opened a barbershop at the corner of Elm and Church Streets. The building previously housed Pawfection, an animal grooming business owned and operated by Aimee Allen. However, before that, the building was a barbershop owned and operated for many years by Al DeLuca. Schwab has yet to meet DeLuca, but he has talked to him on the phone. “I’m hoping to be as successful as he was,” said Schwab. “Many people have come by and told me this used to be a barbershop. I’m excited!” While DeLuca’s shop filled the full space available, Aaron is only using half that space.
It’s a nice setup, and he is obviously able to get the job done.
Schwab has had a hair cutting and cosmetology license since 2004. He received a Master Barber’s License about a year ago. He received his barber training from the Austin School of Spa Technology.
The shop has only been open a couple of months. Schwab said it has been “going great” and he has been getting some very positive feedback.
The shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 7 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. If those hours are not convenient Schwab encourages customers to call 227-5969 for an appointment. “I only live three blocks away,” he said. The shop address is 79 Church Street. Haircuts for seniors cost $12, for men $15 and for boys $10. Specialities, such as tapers, cost $7.
