New Lebanon Library December Events

All of these events are free and will take place at the Library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
• December 2 – Holiday Movie Night – 6:30 pm – showing of a current film suitable for the whole family. Call 518-794-8844 for the title. Snacks will be provided.
• December 4 – New Lebanon Book Group – 11 am. The book to be discussed is To The End of the Land by David Grossman. Newcomers are welcome.
• December 5 – Crochet & Knitting Group – 6:30 pm. Bring your needlework, pull up a chair and share ideas and conversation. Newcomers are welcome.
• December 6 – Carve Your Own Rubber Stamp and Make Your Own Holiday Cards – 7 pm – for ages 10 and up, $5 materials fee. Please call to register at 518-794-8844.
• December 8 – Family Crafts Night – 6:30 pm – suitable for the whole family. Make cinnamon clay dough ornaments. All materials will be provided.
• December 9 – Coffeehouse Night – 6 pm – features the music of singer/songwriter Linda Worster. Light refreshments will be served.
• December 15 – Flying Deer Nature Center presents Winter Wild Edibles – 6:30 pm. Learn to identify the Top 10 Winter Wild Edibles that earn high ranking for flavor, findability and fun.
• December 16 – Winter Solstice with Atwater-Donnelly – 7 pm – a delightful, winter-themed program of traditional American and Celtic folk songs, a capella pieces, old-time gospel songs, dance tunes and original works.
• December 17 – Paws-to-Read – 9 am. Therapy dogs come to the Library and children read to their furry friends. And, of course, the dogs listen! Please call 518-794-8844 to register.
• December 17 – Chess Instruction for Kids – 10 am. The instruction is for kids, but players of all ages and levels are welcome.
• December 21 – Holiday Cookie Swap – 6:30 pm. Bring four dozen of your favorite cookies, the recipe and a container to hold your cookie haul!
• December 30 – David Grover and Linda Worster in Concert Together – 7pm. Celebrate New Year’s Eve a day early with these two local favorites.
Ongoing Events
• December 7, 14, 21 and 28 (event is on Wednesdays) – Tales for Tots Story Hour – 10:30 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.
• December 7, 14, 21 and 28 (event is on Wednesdays) – Hug-A-Bye Babies – noon. This are age appropriate stories, songs and movement activities for our youngest patrons and their caregivers.
• December 8, 15, 22 and 29 (event is on Thursdays) – Bright Beginnings Story Hour and Play Group – 11 am to 2 pm. Meet other parents and care providers while your child hears a story, then socializes with other children in an unstructured, educational setting. This is free and open to everyone who cares for children ages 0-5.
