Richard H. Bump Sr.

Hoosick Falls – Richard H. Bump Sr., 84, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bennington, VT, where he had resided since 2008. Formerly Richard had resided on Congress Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. He was the husband of the late Anita (Albergine) Bump, who died in 2000.
Born on March 12, 1927, in Arlington, VT, Richard was the son of the late Floyd and Florence (Gilbar) Bump. He attended schools in the Arlington area. Richard was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WW II. He worked as a truck driver for the union until retiring.
Survivors include his son, Richard H. Bump Jr. and wife Linda of White Creek, NY, his daughter, Sandra Peckham of Cropseyville, NY, his sisters, Shirley Gardner and Florence Thomas, as well as eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Richard is pre-deceased by a daughter, Judy Ruebel.
Funeral services were Thursday, December 15, at 12 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at the Rosewood Cemetery in White Creek. Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 am until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital through the funeral home.
