Fire Prevention In The Home For Seniors

January 20, 2012 By eastwickpress

On Friday, January 27, the Seniors’ Ministry of Immaculate Conception/St. Joseph Parish will host its regular monthly meeting at 11:30 am, at the Church Hall in New Lebanon. This month, Stephentown Assistant Fire Chief, Rik McClave, will discuss the most likely causes of fires in the home and how to develop an escape plan in the event of fire. The presentation is especially timely after several fatal fires which have affected this parish community, and the onset of the cold weather season that may prompt the use of unsafe methods to heat the house. Chief McClave is an experienced firefighter and EMT who is also a knowledgeable and very dynamic speaker.
Everyone from the community is welcome to attend the program and to enjoy a light lunch afterward at no charge. The Church and Hall are located at 732 U.S. Route 20, in New Lebanon. Please call Mary at 518-733-0469 if you need more information.
