James Raymond Rogers

Hoosick Falls – James Raymond Rogers, “Jimmy,” 57, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 8, 2012, after being stricken at work. He had resided on High Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.
Born on December 3, 1954, in Bennington, VT, Jimmy was the oldest son of Joan H. Rogers and the late Raymond G. Rogers. He was a 1972 graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls and a certified hull technician in the United States Navy stationed aboard the nuclear submarine, the USS Nimitz. Jim worked with his father in the family business, Rogers Roofing and Gutters, and took over the business after his father’s passing. He was passionate about the Detroit Tigers and the Dallas Cowboys. Jimmy was a member of the Society of St. Stanislaw and the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a past member of the Elks # 178, all in Hoosick Falls.
Survivors include his mother, Joan, his children, Joey and Nicole, six sisters and brothers including Dodie and husband John Vars, Terri and husband John Burdick, Joni Rogers, Mickey and wife Stacy Rogers, Rosemarie Rogers and Rick Stowell and Faye and husband Gary McCormick. Jimmy was adored by his several nieces and nephews, his two great-nieces and a great-nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial is offered Friday, January 13, at 12 noon from the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. Burial follows the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
Relatives and friends called at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls on Thursday, January12, from 4: to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad, the Karen McGovern Memorial Fund or St. Mary’s Academy through the funeral home.
