Singer-songwriter Molly Durnin of Petersburgh makes her debut at the Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, on Wednesday, January 18, at 7 pm. Caffe Lena is the region’s foremost folk club with a national reputation for presenting the best in acoustic music. Durnin is being featured in the venue’s monthly Emerging Artist Breakout series.

Durnin is a native of Grafton, currently living in Petersburgh. She began writing songs and pursuing a career as a musician about four years ago. Her first performance was opening for Missy Higgins at Revolution Hall in 2008, and, since then, she has appeared regularly at live music venues in the region, playing originals and cover songs while honing her craft.
At her Caffe Lena performance, Durnin will have the opportunity to perform all the songs from her impressive cache of originals. She is described as an acoustic musician with a rhythmic guitar groove and tuneful melodic sense that draws from the heart of Americana, folk and blues traditions. Her songs are clever and musically varied, with an emotional depth that touches listeners.
