Dr. Lee Delaney returned to the Hoosick Planning Board this month with all the materials the Board had requested of him at the previous month’s meeting. The Board reviewed the materials and verbally reviewed the environmental impact assessment regulations. They found no environmental issues. Last month the Board waived the need for a public hearing regarding the project. [private]The request for Dr. Delaney to establish the Hoosick Veterinary Clinic at 4997 Route 67 was approved. Dr. Delaney expects the Clinic will open
March 1.
Board Chairman Jim Dunigan said, “This man followed procedures. He brought everything the Board asked for and was approved. Some folks come back six times [because they don’t bring all the required information].”
Boundary Line Change
Dunigan recused himself from the Board and stepped to the front of the dais. He showed the Board maps of his property and explained that the adjoining property owner, Marilyn Douglas, may want to purchase some five to ten acres of his land in back of her house. The Board agreed it would be a simple boundary line change. Dunigan will appear before the Board again next month with the final details.
New Building Inspector
Newly appointed Building Inspector Charlie Kovage attended the meeting. Kovage told the Board he is retired from the insurance business. He said he begins his Building Inspector training soon and he is looking forward to serving the Town. Planning Board Attorney Denis King explained that the Planning Board is basically responsible for subdivisions, site plan review and telecommunication towers. Frequently projects come before the Zoning Board first, and then it is determined what is needed to proceed to the Planning Board.
There was a brief discussion of the Farmland Protection Plan. Some members expressed concerns regarding changes to the trailer law and junkyard law. Chairman Dunigan advised them to read over the plan and to come to the February meeting with comments and suggestions that can then be submitted to the Town Board.
The February Planning Board meeting will be on Monday, February 27, as the usual Monday meeting date is the Presidents’ Day holiday.[/private]
