On Wednesday, January 11, the Hoosick Falls bowling team defeated visiting Granville by the score of 4-0. Total pins for Hoosick Falls were 3,571, and total pins for Granville were 2,808. Hoosick Falls now has a record of 46-2 and Granville is now 30-14. The top bowler for Granville was Patrick Loomis with a 219-616. Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Joe Wolfrum 238-659, Bryan Callahan 245-640, Stephen Surdam 214-633, Mitch Andrew 203-581, Josh McCart 199-537 and Mikaela Marbot 207-521. There were some good J.V. scores. Josh Reveal had his season best 222-607, Ken Marbot 214-580, Jordan Colvin 204-553 and Josh Conn 200-541.
“After our low scores in yesterday’s match, I was glad to see the team come back with some really good scores today. It was another good team effort where everyone either had a good game or good overall triple. It was good to see Josh Reveal have a good day. Bryan Callahan had another great consistent scoring day like he has been doing all season long. We did a better job making our spares and didn’t leave many splits. I hope we are ready for our big matches next week,” said Coach Lang.

The Hoosick Falls bowling team suffered their first match loss of the season in a close match against Fort Edward by the score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Fort Edward won the first game by 17 pins, and Hoosick Falls won the second game by 92 pins. In the third game Fort Edward came back and won by 104 pins giving them the point for total by just 29 pins. Total pins for Fort Edward were 3,672, and total pins for Hoosick Falls were 3,643. Fort Edward is now 51-1, and Hoosick Falls is now 47-5. The top bowler for Fort Edward was Demetrick Rawlins with a 278-711. Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Bryan Callahan 245-691, Joe Wolfrum 256-667, Mitch Andrew 254-635, Josh McCart 213-595, Josh Conn 225-545 and Mikaela Marbot 202-532. The J.V. scores were also good with Ken Marbot 253-623, Josh Reveal 213-565, Stephen Surdam 205-555 and Charlie Stowell 203-553.
“This was a great match with the two best teams in the Adirondack League fighting it out. It was a tough loss, but it was close all the way and could have gone either way during the match. If we had made a few more spares we could have won total for a tie. Hopefully we will do well in our match against Schuylerville tomorrow so we can have a chance to bowl them again. It was a fun match to watch as both teams had some great scores,” Coach Lang said.
The Hoosick Falls bowling team had another close match against Schuylerville on the road on Wednesday and won by the score of 3-1. This was their last regular match of the season and clinched the Southern Division title of the Adirondack League with a final point record of 50-6 and a final match record of 13-1. Schuylerville has a record of 34-10 with three matches left to play. Hoosick Falls had total pins of 3,536 to Schuylerville’s total pins of 3,439. The top bowler for Schuylerville was Mike Ricci with a 236-626. Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Joe Wolfrum 237-659, Mitch Andrew 257-642, Bryan Callahan 219-637, Jordan Colvin 192-557, Josh McCart 198-537 and Mikaela Marbot 187-531. The top J.V. bowler was Josh Conn with a 223-566.
“This was a great come back win for the team after the close loss to Fort Edward the day before. We won the first game by just 3 pins and lost the second game by just 7 pins and came back and won the last game by 101 pins to take total by 97 pins. The team was very patient and made the necessary adjustments in games two and three to get the big win and clinch the Southern Division title. We will now bowl against Fort Edward, which is the Northern Division champion, on Tuesday, February 7, at the Strike Zone Lanes in Saratoga for the overall Adirondack League Title. It should be another great battle between two teams that have the utmost respect for each other,” said Coach Lang.
