by Ryan Mosher
The Hoosick Falls wrestling team traveled to Tamarac High School on Friday, December 30, for its only match over the Christmas break.  The Panthers made the one match worth their time as they won 58-15 against their Wasaren League opponent.
Teddy Westervelt set the tone for the day with a first period pin in the very first match.  Nolan Foster then picked up his first real varsity win (another came via forfeit) in impressive fashion. Foster controlled the match from the first whistle

and picked up a 13-0 victory.  Luis Weierbach, Colby Davendonis, Mike Mattat and Bryan Sherman each picked up a win for Hoosick Falls.
Garrett Wright, Mike McGuire and Brad Burns each picked up wins by pinning their opponents in the second periods of their respective matches.  The Panthers held the Bengals to just two victories, one by points and one by fall, as well as one forfeited weight class.  Hoosick Falls picked up three forfeits on its way to the victory.  They next host Granville on Thursday night at 6 pm.
