January 26, 2012 By eastwickpress

At the Friends of the Cheney Library January meeting a report was given on the recent Dine Out to Help Out fund-raiser at the Falls Diner. A Book Fair is planned for March. Monies raised will be used to support the local library and promote new programming. This winter the Library is offering a multicultural program for elementary students called “Stories Around the World.” On January 19 children were issued “passports” as they traveled to the country of Germany. On February 16 students will explore the Philippines and on March 15 the program will focus on Canada. Each program will run from 6:30 to 7:30.  Students and their parents/guardians in grades 1-6 are welcome to attend.
The next meeting of The Friends will be held on March 6 at 7 pm at the Cheney Library. Membership is open to all.
