Dorothy A. La Roche

Hoosick Falls – Dorothy A. La Roche, 90, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. She had resided on Carey Avenue in Hoosick Falls, NY, with her husband of sixty-nine years Leo T. La Roche.
Born on February 20, 1921, in Hoosick Falls, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Ethel (Hackett) Crowley. She graduated from Walter A. Wood High School in Hoosick Falls. Dorothy was employed in production at the Albany International, formerly Albany Felt Company. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling and going to Las Vegas with Leo. Most of all she enjoyed time spent with family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors, other than her husband Leo, include her daughter, Mary M. Haynes and husband Paul, her son Leo J. La Roche and wife Betsy, all of Hoosick Falls, her son, Michael E. La Roche of Queensbury, NY, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is pre-deceased by two sisters, Mary Shaw and Margaret Lewsey, and five brothers, George, Coleman, Harold, Stuart and Walter Crowley.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Monday, February 13, at 11:30 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial followed the Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
Relatives and friends called at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, on Sunday from 4 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosick Falls Health Center through the funeral home.
