Edith M. Wilcox

Hancock – Edith M. Kickery Wilcox, 86, of Main Street, Hancock, MA, died on Monday, February 13, 2012, at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA.
Born in Pittsfield on April 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Lillian Kelly Kickery. She was the wife of the late George E. Wilcox, Sr., who died on February 24, 1995. They were married in Stephentown, NY, on June 17, 1940.
A resident of the Hancock area for the past 36 years, Mrs. Wilcox attended Pittsfield schools and was a member of the Hancock Baptist Church. She was a fantastic homemaker who devoted her life to her family. She loved to knit, crochet, garden (especially flowers) and take trips to Michigan.
Survivors include her children, Evelyn R. and  husband Francis McSorley of Hancock, George E. and wife Sally Wilcox Jr. of Pittsfield, Edith M. and husband Donato Zaragoza of Sahurita, AZ, Richard A. and wife Violet Wilcox of Pittsfield and Dolores M. and husband Charles Proper of Pownal, VT, her sisters, Ruth Wick of Pittsfield and Marion Bishop of Dalton, MA, her nine grandchildren, her 17 great-grandchildren and her two great-great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by a sister, Lillian Klahn, and a grandson, Harold F. “Buddy” Wilcox.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 18, at noon in the Hancock Baptist Church, Main Street, Hancock. Burial will be in the spring in the Hancock Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Church on Saturday from 10 am until the start of the service.
To remember Edith in a special way, memorial contributions may be made to either the Hancock Baptist Church or the Hancock Volunteer Fire Department in care of Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, P.O. Box 9, Stephentown, NY. 12168.
