William M. Rose, Sr.

Petersburgh – William Michael Rose, Sr., 54, of Stewart Road, Petersburgh, NY, died on Tuesday evening, February 7, 2012, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Troy, NY, on September 23, 1957, he was the son of the late Irving D. and Mary Alice Morey Rose, Sr. Bill was the loving husband of the former Julia “Vicky” Burdick, whom he married in Pownal, VT, on May 28, 1982.
A resident of the Berlin/Petersburgh area since 1989, Bill attended Hoosic Valley High School and was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He was employed as a carpenter building homes and, at the time of his death, was employed by Doxsee Roofing of Bennington, VT. He loved fishing, doing it almost everyday.
Survivors include his wife, Vicky, his children, Violet Rose of Troy, Nancy and husband Frank Lewandusky of Cohoes, NY, and William “RJ” Rose Jr. of Bennington, his grandchildren, Averi Rose, Logan, Jakob and Madison Vars, Dillon Burt Jr., and Ryder Lewandusky (arriving in April), his siblings, Irving and John Rose of North Pownal, VT, Chuck Rose and Sue Onorato of Bennington, George and wife Janet Rose of Middleburgh, NY, Bev and husband Randy O’Brien of Hoosick, NY, Jim and wife Vicki Morgan of North Pownal, Mary and husband David LaPell of Lake George, NY, and Polly Morgan of Clifton Park, NY, and several nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. Bill is also survived by many beloved friends including Josh Harrington, Tippy Rose, Chris Carlo, John Lloyd, Mark Nobel and Mike Welch.
A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, February 11, at 11 am in the Meadowlawn Cemetery, Hewitt Road, Petersburgh. Relatives and friends are invited to the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, on Friday from 4 to 7 pm for visitation.
