Big Whoop About Zip

March 16, 2012 By eastwickpress

The students of the High School Drama Club at BCS will present “Big Whoop About Zip” – a 21st century adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing on Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17, at 7 pm in the Berlin High School.
“Big Whoop About Zip” features current issues, characters and themes – including hip hop, drug prevention, soccer and even President Bush.  The play includes a cast and crew of 20 students from Berlin High School  and is directed by Dianne Mosher. Caitlin Hungerford and Philip Bruns  play the leads as Beatrice and Ben.
The play is rated PG 13 as it involves some “teenage” language.  Admission is $5.  Families pay $25 maximum per family.
“Big Whoop About Zip” was commissioned by the dairy farmers who own Cabot Creamery as part of Cabot’s ongoing commitment to support community activities, particularly for families and teens.  It was made available to any high school drama group interested in performing the play.  Thanks to the power of the world wide web, the script, poster, program, promotion materials and ticket art are provided for free.
