Grafton Historical Society Meeting

March 9, 2012 By eastwickpress

The Grafton Historical Society’s March meeting will be held at the Grafton Town Hall on March 21 at 7 pm.
The speaker will be Gary Mercer. He will present a program on antique bottles and bottle collecting. Mercer is an avid and nationally known antique bottle collector. He has been collecting old bottles since he was a child on his family farm in Selkirk.
Mercer is a member of the Albany Bottle Club and very active in the Bottle Museum in Ballston Spa. He is widely respected nationally for his encyclopedic knowledge of antique bottles and their uses.
He will bring a portion of his collection, with bottles more than a century old. You will learn how to identify bottles not only by their age but also by the purposes for which they were created. The public is invited to attend this free program and bring a bottle of your own to discuss.
For more information contact Dorothy at historicgrafton@aol.com or 641-9660.
