The Photography Contest was held at Hoosick Grange on March 14. Martha Babbitt came in first in all three categories. After the contest the business meeting was held with Master David Cornell presiding. We draped the Charter for Charles Cornell. We still had a number of Grangers that were unable to attend, so we didn’t have degrees.
The Lecturer’s program followed the business meeting. Each member was to have a joke or story for the program. The Lecturer read and told stories. One was about a nun who was dying, and she gave some last minute wisdom. Another was on three sons who wanted to prove to their mother they were the best. Boy were they surprised. Then there was the taxi cab driver who screamed when he was tapped on the shoulder. It was his first day driving a taxi, he had been driving a funeral van for the last 25 years. The Lecturer closed with a reading on Sister Mary Alice’s Special Justice especially to spitballs.
After the program we had refreshments. Our next meeting is on March 28 at 7:30. The Hoosick Falls Central School Jazz Band will be performing for us. Everyone is invited to come and hear the students play great jazz. Come and enjoy. Grange members are to bring lots of goodies for refreshments.
