Two attorneys appeared before the Town of Hoosick Planning Board at their regular meeting on Monday, February 27.
Brownell Property
An attorney represented the Brownell family for an initial conference. Mr. Brownell wants to divide his Walloomsac farmland and gift it to his children. It would be three lots. One lot and acreage includes the former Columbia Box factory. Lot one will be 27¾ acres, lot two will be 103 acres and lot three will be 45½ acres.
It was mentioned that the Brownells would be approaching the Zoning Board regarding a variance to turn the Columbia Box building into a recycling center.
Breese Hollow Property
Attorney Ed Gorman appeared before the Board representing a client interested in purchasing approximately 70 acres on the east side of Breese Hollow Road. Right now the two parcels labeled 8.1 and 8.2 are all part of one deed. This should wind up to be a two or three lot simple subdivision.
No one appeared before the Board regarding the Brimmer Farm property.
The next regular meeting of the Board will be Monday, March 19, at 7:30 pm.
Farmland Protection
Chairman Jim Dunigan asked Board members if they had any comments on the Farmland Protection Plan they had been asked to review. Only one member had questions concerning the trailers for farmhands regulation and if the trailers would remain when farmhands no longer lived there. He was also concerned about the junkyard clause.
Town Councilman and Farmland Protection Plan Chair Jeff Wysocki, who was in attendance, told the Board they are reviewing the trailer regulation and the Town Board is reviewing the present junkyard law in general. He said they will be updating the Farmland Protection Plan once everyone has responded. It then will be reviewed again.
