To say voter turnout for the Tuesday uncontested election of three Hoosick Falls Village trustees was light is an understatement. It was more like family and friends showing support for those they hold dear. Robert Downing has served on the Board for many years. David Borge and Jeremy Driscoll were both appointed to their seats. This was their first time seeking election to the Board. Undoubtedly the fact that the three were unopposed had a great deal to do with the low voter turnout. The result was a forgone conclusion.
It would have been nice, however, if more voters had turned out to show their support to the men who receive minimal payment and contribute a great deal to their community.
Downing received a total of 52 votes. Eight of the votes were absentee ballots. Borge received 48 votes, seven of which were absentee ballots. Driscoll received 47 votes including seven absentee.
