Barbara J. Sprague

Hoosick – Barbara J. Sprague, 84, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center. Formerly she had resided on Rowley Road in Hoosick, NY, and was the wife of the late Malcolm Sprague, who died in 1991.
Born on July 9, 1927, in Hoosick Falls, NY, Barbara was the daughter of the late John T. and Isabel (Klein) Morrison. She was educated at the Walter A. Wood High School in Hoosick Falls and was employed at the Albany Felt Company for years. Barbara was a member of the North Hoosick Fire Department Auxiliary. Barbara enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, cooking and spending time with her family and friends playing cards and board games.
Survivors include her daughters, Vicki Dwyer and husband Phil of Buskirk, NY, and Debbie Sprague and Gene of Santa Maria, CA, her sons, Joseph Sprague and wife Sue of Wasilla, AK, and Jeff Sprague of Goffstown, NH, her sisters, Nadine Morrison of New Hampshire and Marcy Strybos of California, five grandchildren, Stacey Shoulders, Michelle Van Gorder, Michaela Dwyer, Dustin Dwyer and Jack Sprague, five great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Karmelo, Joey, Katlyn and Ryan, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 3, at 10 am from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, in Hoosick Falls. Burial followed the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 am until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hoosick Falls Health Center through the funeral home.
