Catherine F. Grogan

Grafton/Brunswick – Catherine ‘Kaye’ F. Looney Grogan, 87, of Goodman Avenue, Brunswick, NY, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at her residence after a long illness.
Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Jeremiah Looney and Alpharetta Wood Looney and the wife of the late Elmer A. Grogan. She was raised in Grafton, NY, resided in Speigletown, NY, and for the past 22 years lived in Brunswick. Kaye was a graduate of Troy High School, Cornell Medical College in New York City and Hudson Valley Community College.
She was an industrial radiologist for the Watervliet Arsenal for over 20 years, continuing in her own consulting firm for several years.  Prior to that, she was a children’s nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, NY, and at Brady Maternity.
An active volunteer, Kaye was a founding member of the Grafton Veterans of Foreign Wars, a treasurer of the Elmwood Hill Cemetery Association and a member and Finance Chairperson of the Center Brunswick United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Eileen and husband Lawrence Mosher of Rhinebeck, NY, a brother, Gerald and wife Lorraine Looney of Raymertown, NY, a sister-in-law, Betty Looney of Troy, a cousin, Janice Schilling of Schenectady, NY, and many loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is pre-deceased by a sister, Sheila Stephens, and a brother, John E. Looney.
The funeral service is private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in  Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
The family wishes to thank Kaye’s devoted and loving caregivers.
