Dorothy M. Hogue

Hancock – Dorothy M. “Dot” Christiansen Hogue, 69, of Hancock Road in Hancock, MA, died on Tuesday evening, April 3, 2012, at her residence under the care of Hospice Care in the Berkshires, surrounded by her loving children.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, on March 6, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel Scace Christiansen. A life long resident of Hancock, Dot was a 1961 graduate of New Lebanon High School. In her early years she worked for Taconic Telephone in Chatham, NY. Dot retired in 2006 as the Human Resource

Administrator for Jiminy Peak in Hancock, where she had worked for 29 years. In retirement she worked for Elder Services of Pittsfield. She enjoyed embroidering, animals, bird watching and gardening. Dot’s true love was her family, especially her grandchildren and their activities, whether it be skiing, soccer, chorus or horseback riding. She never missed an event.
Survivors include her three children, Jon D. Hogue and his wife Margaret of Lunenburg, MA, Stephen M. Hogue Sr. of Hancock and Teresa A. Gorham and her husband Gene of Rutland, MA, a sister, Evelyn Harrington of Lanesboro, MA, her grandchildren, Jacob Hogue, Jessica Hogue, Stephen Hogue, Jr. and Kayla Gorham, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by siblings, Charles “Luke” Christiansen and Elsie Williams.
Per Dot’s wishes there will be no formal services and burial will be private. Relatives and friends are invited to the Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, 457 NY 43, Stephentown, NY, on Friday, April 6, from 4 to 7 pm to share stories and celebrate her life.
