The Butterfly Project is a program that helps donate slightly used prom dresses to help make the dreams come true for some young girl who wants to attend her high school prom but may not be able to afford a dress.
“The Butterfly Project is all about making girls in our community feel special during one of their important events in high school,” said Aelish Nealon, Executive Director of HAYC3.
Volunteers from the community have collected dresses, and they have been cleaned and are ready to be viewed at the Butterfly Boutique at HAYC3 located at 115 Church Street.
Also being planned is the opportunity for hair, make up and nail appointments to be available on Prom Day, Saturday, May 19, during the hours of 10 am and 2 pm.
The Butterfly Project still needs donations of formal dresses (all sizes), shoes, purses, jewelry and accessories. Donations will be gratefully accepted and can be dropped off anytime at the center.
For more information, to view dresses or to make an appointment for hair, nails and /or make up call the Center at 686-9050 or visit the website at www.hayc3.org.
