The Hoosick Fire Department captured its second straight championship in the Friday National League at the Barbecue Recreation this past Sunday with a win over Hathaway Electric in the rolloff. Hathaway Electric won the first of three splits and captured most overall wins for the year while the Hoosick Fire Department earned a shot at the championship by winning both the second and third splits.
The Hoosick Fire Dept. bested the Hathaway Electric team by the score of 3,034 – 2,938 to capture the championship. Mike Pierce Jr. led all bowlers with a 246, 683 series while William Rifenburgh shot 236, 630 and Steve Surdam shot 248, 622 to lead the Hoosick Fire Dept. Paul Davendonis and Leo Surdam chipped in with 582 and 517 respectively. Mike Ryan was on a roll for Hathaway Electric with his 267, 668 effort while Larry LeBarron bowled 458, Jeff Waytkus, 552, Ted Senecal, Jr., 560, and Wayne King, 580.
The Friday National League will hold its banquet on Friday, May 4, at the Barbecue Recreation.
