Local Restaurants Show Support For Taste Of Hoosick Food And Music Festival

Do you have a desire to sample some of the best food in upstate New York? Here is your chance. Popular restaurants returning for the third annual Taste of Hoosick on May 6 at St. Mary’s Academy include Potters Tavern, Falls Diner, Eagle Bridge Inn, Subway and Pizza Bella. The Taste of Hoosick Committee is excited to announce major additions. Joining this year will be newcomers, Cambridge Hotel, Farrara’s Restaurant, Weeb’s Fish Fry and Jeannie’s Sweet Dreams.
There will also be live entertainment from the HFCS Jazz Band as well as the wonderful music of other talented local musicians on the St. Mary’s stage.
The silent auction promises something for everyone, featuring goods and services from the greater Hoosick area. Drop your ticket in the jar to be eligible for numerous door prizes.
Tickets will be available at the HACA Center as well as other locations to be announced. Pre-event tickets cost $12.50, and tickets at the door cost $15.
This event is sponsored by the Hoosick Area Church Association, Inc a non-profit organization which sponsors the HACA Food Pantry. The Food Pantry served 4,585 individuals in 2011. The number of families seeking service totaled 255, including 279 children, 446 adults and 56 elderly. Pickups at the Regional Food Bank totaled over 36,000 pounds of perishable and non-perishable food, in addition to thousands of pounds of food donated by community organizations, churches and individuals. Thanks to Taste of Hoosick 2011 317 families were provided with food baskets for the holiday season.
