Hoosick Falls – Marie A. Bouplon Nealon, 79, of Elm Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, died on Thursday morning, April 19, 2012, at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong area resident, Marie was born on May 9, 1932, in Hoosick Falls to the late Edward and Mary Winegard Bouplon. She was the loving wife of James J. Nealon, whom she married in White Creek, NY, on May 17, 1968. She was a 1949 graduate of the Walter A. Wood High School (Hoosick Falls) and a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. In the spring of 1967, Marie traveled to Germany. One of the highlights of the excursion was a motortrip to the Riviera.
Marie was employed by Albany Felt, Eagle Bridge Machine & Tool and retired in 1997 from Verizon in Troy, NY, where she worked in accounting. Marie enjoyed swimming and was a member of the Bennington Recreation Center. She also swam during the summers in the Town of Hoosick pool. She was an accomplished painter who studied various art media at Southern Vermont College. Additionally, Marie was a professionally trained clown whose name was “BOOGIES” (pronounced BOO-GEES). She was an avid shopper, but her true love was her family, which she devoted her entire life to making happy.
Survivors include her husband, Jim (Mr. Nealon), her children, Sean L. Nealon, Kathleen M. and husband Fred Smith of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Marie A. and husband David Kipp of Hoosick Falls, her grandchildren, Freddie, Suzie, Sam and Maggie Smith and Nora and Maxwell Kipp, her aunt, Anne Bouplon of Bennington, VT, her siblings, Susan Bouplon of Hoosick Falls, Edward and wife Kathleen Bouplon of Saratoga, NY, and Fred and wife Barbara Bouplon of Hoosick Falls, along with many nieces and nephews.
A Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial was celebrated by Father Tom Zelker on Monday, April 23, at noon in the Immaculate Conception Church, 67 Main Street, Hoosick Falls. Cremation followed. Relatives and friends were invited to the visitation at the Church on Monday from 10 am to 11:45 am.
