New Town Of Grafton Website In The Works

April 27, 2012 By eastwickpress

by Alex Brooks
At a Special Grafton Town Board Meeting held on Wednesday, April 18, the Board met to discuss creating a new web site for the Town. Town Supervisor Ray Darling was unable to attend the meeting so it was run by Deputy Supervisor Cathy Goyer.
[private]Councilman Rick Ungaro, who has solicited proposals from several providers, recommended that the Town hire Bob Phelps of Hoosick, who has done web sites for several neighboring towns. His company, RBP WebDesigns, gave the Town an estimate of $500 to set up the basic web site, and the Board agreed to hire him. The Board also set up a committee to work with Phelps, chaired by Councilman Ungaro. Marie Claus and Matt Kirchner volunteered to serve on the committee, and Ungaro said that Barbara Messenger has also been very helpful in the task of gathering material to put on the web site.
Ungaro said this week that he and Phelps have already made a lot of progress setting up the site. He said they are trying to go public with the site as soon as possible because Grafton Assessor Craig Surprise has told them that he needs to get a link to the Town assessment rolls on the web site by the beginning of May.
Interviews For Town Secretary
The Grafton Town Board also met on Saturday morning, April 21, to interview two candidates for the Town Secretary job. They will be interviewing at least one more candidate and have not yet come to a decision about whom to hire.[/private]
