Upcoming Events At Grafton Lakes State Park

April 21, Saturday – Trail Work Day from 9 am to 12 pm.  Help us spruce up our trails for the summer and enjoy a great morning in the outdoors.  Please pre-register for complimentary lunch after trail work by calling Park Naturalists at 279-1155 by Friday morning.
April 27, Friday – Star Watch at 7:30 pm.  Enjoy a tour of the night sky with the Albany Area Astronomers Association. Enter the Park via the winter entrance and follow signs to group.  Weather may cancel; call Bernard at 658-9144 to confirm. The rain date is April 28.
April 29, Sunday – “Building Up! The Industrious Lives of Beavers” at 1pm.  Grafton’s many lakes are home to beaver. Learn about this busy animal and its influence on New York history. Finally, take a tour to an active beaver lodge. The cost is $2 per participant, $5 per family.  Please call 279-1155 to pre-register.
May 3, Thursday – Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park Spring Meeting at 7 pm in the Park Office.  Join this diverse group of outdoor enthusiasts in improving Grafton Lakes State Park. Bring your ideas!
May 5, Saturday – I Love My Park Day, 9 am to 12 pm. Celebrate the Park you love by volunteering for early spring clean up. This is great for high school seniors. Call 279-1155 for details.

May 20, Sunday – Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis.  Registration for this 1km fundraising walk begins at 11 am.  For more information about the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the event, please call CFF at 783-7361.
May 26, Saturday – Memorial Day Weekend at Grafton Lakes State Park – Aliens in Your Backyard: the Mysterious World of Bugs at 2:30 pm. The group meets at the beach program tent. Join our Park Naturalists in exploring and discovering the strange and fascinating creatures that exist all around us. The beach opens for the season, 10 am to 6 pm. The weekly beach schedule is Friday-Tuesday from 10 am to 6 pm.
May 28, Monday – Memorial Day Sand Sculpture Contest. There will be prizes for all participants in multiple age categories. Sign up at 12 pm at the Beach Nature Center and build until 2 pm.  Judging is between 2 and 3 pm.
Parking Fees
A $6 per car parking fee on weekends starts May 5.  Starting Memorial Day weekend, parking is $8 per car daily when swimming is open (Fri-Tues) and $6 per car Wed-Thurs.
